I started learning English

I'm a visual learner to the core and I started learning English. Listening was difficult for me until I realized one thing: a visual learner needs visualization of sound. Here in Promova, I liked using the function of how to pronounce a word. There I found not just the sound, there you can see how the word is broken down, what sounds are used, how they are spelled. I could literally “see” the pronunciation and my brain picked up on it. Plus, I started watching short video lessons with subtitles, and then I would close the text and repeat it.

A common problem is passive knowledge. You read, listen - everything seems clear. But when you need to say something yourself - you get stuck. Words don't come to mind, the brain seems to freeze. This creates the illusion that you are "bad at languages", although in fact this is just a normal stage of transition from passive perception to active use.
