Make sure your full name, surname, ID number, date of birth, phone number, and bank details are entered exactly as they appear on your official documents.
2. Update Records at Home Affairs
If your details have changed, such as your surname or ID document, visit your nearest Home Affairs office to update your information.
3. Submit an Appeal
If verification still fails, you must lodge an appeal. Each month that your application is rejected requires a separate appeal. Use the official appeals portal through the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA). Appeals should be filed within 30 days of receiving the failure notice.
4. Wait for Review
The appeal process can take up to three months. Check your progress regularly through a sassa status check and respond quickly if more information is requested.
